I thought a lot during the Tech 107 Lecture, it is about the Glumlam timer industry, two of them talked about the timber used in different ways engaged withe the architecture buildings, and a lots of images are showed on the ppt, it is quite expressive when hearing so many advantages compare to concrete: such as a timber structure house, after the fire, and didn't change the frame, the timber stucture still suport the the building for 28 years; and the Yellow Tree House (Auckland North Shore), The Onepoto Footbridge (auckland north shore). it is quite interesting to glumlam timer to creative amazing curves as well. To understand the attribute of timber is quite important.
Recently I read about Antoni Gaudi, in his life design, all the element are not straight line, maybe he is inspired by the nature, but the question came to my mind, is the curve architecture elements come more powerful than straight line?
